EXPERTISE AND BRAND FOCUS
Sunny Side of Life, a new collection of radiant moments
With this High Jewellery and Fine Watchmaking collection, Piaget is writing a new chapter in the philosophy of the Maison, whose cornerstone is radiance. A chapter highlighting a unique glow, contagious joy and creative vivacity inspired by a sunny disposition. Incandescent gold, gems with vivid, contrasting colours – emeralds, non-heated sapphires, yellow diamonds or black diamonds – along with expertise accentuating the brilliance of the precious metals and the sparkle of the stones: everything contributes to propagating a charismatic radiance and personality. The jewellery creations feature a generous aesthetic reminiscent of solar warmth suffusing the body and leaving the unique imprint of the Maison Piaget.
GOLD IN ALL ITS SPLENDID DIVERSITY
Mesh-woven, finely chased, hammered, decorated, cabled, interpreted in leaf or wire form: gold, the radiant material that reigns supreme at Piaget, is finely crafted and explored throughout its various collections, with a special preference for gold bracelets which represent one of its unmistakable style signatures.
In this latest collection, the Maison turns the spotlight on some of these exclusive skills, faithfully cultivated and passed on from hand to hand by the artisans exercising their talents in its Manufacture on the outskirts of Geneva.
PALACE DECOR, PRECIOUS FIBRES
This engraving process inspired by Haute Couture methods endows gold with a supple fabric- like appearance and an inimitable glow that notably accentuates the sparkle of precious stones on gemset models. It consists in hand-guilloché work performed on the precious metal by forming irregular streaks resembling the distinctive fibres of raw silk and reproducing its shimmering, scintillating effect. The Palace decor may contribute, as it does on the Palm El Dorado watch (G0A41230), to reconstituting the texture and dynamics of a plant fibre: in this case a palm leaf. The Sunny Getaway pink gold and diamonds cuff watch (G0A41224) as well as the Summer Crush necklace (G37M9000) and the Deep Blue cuff bracelet in white gold set with diamonds and lapis lazuli (G36M4800) also feature this Palace decor, providing a chance to admire an aesthetic touch and an art beautifully mastered for decades by the Maison Piaget.
GOLD MESH, ULTRA-LIGHT AND SOPHISTICATED
For the sunniest of all metals and several of the Sunny Side of Life models, Piaget has developed a new interpretation of the mesh technique that it masters to perfection thanks to its jewellery-chainmaking workshop within which successive generations of artisans pass on this rare and secret skill. Embodying superbly complex and brightly gleaming workmanship, this new and exclusively Piaget type of mesh is composed of round gold elements adorned with pin- mounted marquise-cut diamonds. The result is comparable to a rich and precious embroidery, as showcased on the Palm El Dorado necklace (G37M8900). Its astonishingly supple and light feel makes the jewellery feel as if it is literally flowing across the skin. Models made using this technique are particularly graceful, such as this sautoir necklace watch (G0A41243) or watch- bracelet (G0A41263) over which time appears to have no hold…
AN EXCEPTIONAL ‘QUILL PEN’ TO NARRATE THE FLAMBOYANT PIAGET STYLE
Constantly open towards the world and its talent, the Maison has once again chosen to cooperate with feather artist Nelly Saunier for the Life is a Party cuff bracelet, a unique model unfurling a plumage of blue diamonds and sapphires set using the feather marquetry technique (G36M5100). An anthem to the majestic and mesmerising power of nature. This outstanding Master Artisan, who regularly works with couture houses and the great names in design and film-making, is the custodian of an ancestral skill, was awarded the “Prix Liliane Bettencourt pour l’Intelligence de la Main”. She likes to give a distinctly modern twist to her profession, an approach particularly appreciated by Piaget, constantly driven by an innovative spirit that regularly reinvents each metier. Giving precious stones the softness and infinitely varied colours of an imaginary bird wing, on which blues and greens meet, mingle and merge: such was the purpose that gave rise to allying Nelly Saunier’s expertise with that of the Maison Piaget.
